Sad news comes today for the Chattanooga music scene, and music all around. At a young age of 30, the guitarists for a well known rock band from Chattanooga, Soul Mechanic, died in a house fire in Tuscaloosa Alabama on August 6th, 2015. Clark Jackson was popular in Chattanooga not only for his music but for his creative and inspiration soul. Jackson went to Red Bank high school and graduated in 2003. He had lived in Chattanooga most of his life, often touring and visiting surrounding cities.
This tragedy came way to early in Clark’s life, and also in the music career of Soul Mechanic. While doing Chattsounds and other music websites in Chattanooga, Soul Mechanic was one of the most praised and talked about bands. This year they had planned a big tour, and were growing in popularity. It is not yet determined if the band will go on or what future Soul Mechanic may have without him.
It has recently been announced that The Allman Brothers Band will be playing at Chattanooga’s Riverbend 2015. The Riverbend festival last two weekends and takes place in June. More details to come as Riverbend draws closer.
2015 Riverbend will be June 5th through June 13th
